Figarti Miniature: 76.2 AT gun - Panzer Killer

Figarti Miniature: 76.2 AT gun - Panzer Killer

This month, Figarti is adding to their Russian WWII collection with the 76.2 AT Gun - Panzer Killer, JSU-152, and three Russian Soldiers advancing labeled "Forward!". These three figures will compliment their other recent Russian collection that included the JS-2. All are a part of their highly detailed and very popular 1:30 scale collection, which are limited edition figures. All three figure sets are available for pre-order at www.BgsToySoldiers.com and should be shipping in the second half of July 2010. The sets, and retail prices are:

- EFR-002 - 76.2 AT gun - Panzer Killer ($215.00)
- EFR-004 - JSU-152 ($219.00)
- EFR-005 - Forward! ($95.00)

The Russian JSU-152 self-propelled gun combined three battle roles : heavy assault gun, heavy tank destroyer and heavy self-propelled artillery. Nicknamed the "Zveroby" or "Animal Killer" by Soviet tank crews because of the devastating effect of its 95 Ib. projectile on Panthers, Tigers and Elefants, the ISU-152 was one of the few Russian tanks capable of destroying heavy German tanks. It suffered from an extremely low rate of fire due to its two piece ammunition, but this disadvantage was countered by massed ambushes of 4-5 vehicles firing in salvo at a single target's flanks. Following the great success of its JS-2, Figarti Miniatures proudly adds the "Beast" (EFR-004) to its line of Russian vehicles. Done the Figarti Way, this massive tank comes with two figurines. In addition, Figarti Miniatures adds the "Panzer Killer" (EFR-002), a Russian 76.2mm antitank gun with four figurines; and "Forward!" (EFR-005), three Russian figurines advancing through
the rubble of the Thousand Year Reich.

Coming in August 2010 from Figarti are figures based on the recent blockbuster movie, "The Hurt Locker". They will be 1:32 scale US military figures based out of Afghanistan.

IRQ-001 EOD: Careful! - two figure set $62.00
IRQ-002 M1134 Stryker ATGM $219.00
IRQ-003 USMC M198-155mm Medium Howitzer $239.00
IRQ-004 "M1A2 Abrams" Main Battle Tank $239.00
IRQ-005 EOD: Ready with extinguisher - two figure set $9.00
IRQ-006 EOD: Reporting Status - two figure set $62.00
IRQ-007 More USMC Artillery Support Figures $62.00

These figures will be available for pre-order from www.BgsToySoldiers.com at the end of July 2010.

Figarti Miniatures: Red Ball Express - ETA-015

Figarti Miniatures: Red Ball Express - ETA-015

Figarti is releasing a Red Ball Express collection in the next two weeks. The collection is available for pre-order at www.BgsToySoldiers.com. The pieces that will be available from this collection are:

- Red Ball Express - ETA-015 ($199.00)
- U.S. Fuel Truck - ETA-016 ($169.00)
- Red Ball Mechanics - ETA-018 ($75.00)
- Take Cover! - ETA-019 ($65.00)
- Ambushed MP Jeep - ETA-029 ($159.00)
- Keep'em Rolling! - ETA-031 ($79.00)

After the breakout from the D-Day beaches in late July, 1944, the rapidly advancing Allied armies eventually outran their supply lines and had to halt from the lack of fuel and ordinance. The Red Ball Express was conceived as a constant convoy of trucks traveling several hundred miles between the port of Cherbourg and the city of Chartres, France. At the peak of its operation, it was running 5,938 vehicles carrying 12,342 tons of supplies to forward depots daily. Prohibited from serving in combat units, the majority of the Red Ball Express personnel were young African-Americans. The Red Ball Line is the lifeline between combat and supply. To it falls the tremendous task of getting vital supplies from ports and depots to the combat troops, when and where such supplies are needed, material without which the armies might fail ... But the struggle is not yet won. So the Red Ball Line must continue the battle it is waging so well, with the knowledge that each
truckload which goes through to the combat forces cannot help but bring victory closer.Ąą GENERAL DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER To honour the contribution of these men, Figarti Miniatures proudly introduces its Red Ball Express pieces. The Red Ball Express (ETA-015) is the ubiquitous GMC "Deuce and a half" truck loaded with jerry cans with an African-American driver wearing the Red Ball Express patch. The canvas canopy and engine hood is detachable. U.S. Fuel Truck (ETA-016) is a GMC CCKW 353 fuel truck with removable engine hood and African-American driver used to supply gas stations along the Red Ball route. To service these new trucks, Figarti provides two Red Ball Mechanics (ETA-018), which comes with engine hood hinged in the open position with a separate vehicle number. Take Cover! (ETA-019) has an officer and soldier running for cover as a complement to the next set. Showing the dangers along the route, Ambushed MP Jeep (ETA-029) has three surprised
MPs in a jeep with movable windshield and removable engine hood. Finally, Figarti Miniatures proudly offers Keep'em Rolling (ETA-031) which is inspired by the iconic WWII photo of a Red Ball Express MP directing traffic next to a sign showing the daily tonnage delivered. Done the Figarti way with an attention to detail, the red arrow indicating tonnage is movable.

The Battle of Tarawa was the second offensive by the US in the Pacific theater during WWII, which occured from 20-23 November 1943. With a force of 35000 Americans, the American Navy and Marines started a beach front assault on the 5000 Japanese forces at the Battle of Tarawa. In the end, the Japanese suffered 4713 Casualties and the United States 1677 casualties. The Americans needed to establish a base on the Marshall Islands in order to launch an offensive on the Japanese Empire, but communications between the Marshall Islands and Hawaii were split by the Gilbert Islands. The Japanese kept a heavy garrison of troops on Betio Island. On November 20th 1943, the American forces launched an offensive to take the island. Some have questioned the strategy of the taking of the island, and whether it was worth the loss of American lives. At the end of the battle, the remaining Japanese forces launched a counter-offensive on the American forces on the
beach front, and were annihilated in the end.

Figarti Miniatures: Winter Ground Stuka Hanomag - ETG-009

Figarti Miniatures: Winter Stuka Hanomag - ETG-009

Figarti Miniatures is also releasing A winter ground stuka 251 Hanomag with crew - ETG-009, this week. This limited edition Figarti miniature retails for $249.00 USD. The Winter ground stuka is available at www.BgsToySoldiers.com for order today.

The German Hanomag 251 half-track was a useful armored half-track used for troop transport and also, some of the hanomags were converted to mobile anti-aircraft and some were equipped with rocket launchers that would fire 320mm rockets. These hanomag's rockets were highly inaccurate, but effective for bombardment of allied positions. A group of Hanomags would be used to rain down rockets on allied bases during German offensives.

The 251 Hanomag's armor was good against small arms, such as machine guns, but artillery, explosives, and tank attacks could severly damage the Hanomag.

Figarti Miniatures: Russian JS-2 - EFR-001

Armed with a 122mm gun, that could fire a highly explosive shell that had very good armour penetration. The armmament of the JS-2 was capable of penetrating the armor of the German Tiger and German Panther Tanks. The JS-2 was put into combat in 1944 and was instrumental in the Battle of Berlin for the Russian army. The JS-2 had a thicker armor that would help Figarti Miniatures: Russian JS-2 - EFR-001combat the German 88mm guns. The JS tank series was also known as the Iosif Stalin (IS tank), named after the Russian leader, Joseph Stalin. The JS-2 was a heavy tank, which the Russian military employed as an initial attack tank, to assault areas of resistance in the German lines. Once the lines were broken, a lighter tank, the T-34 was used by the Russian military to move into enemy territory.

Figarti has constructed a replica miniature of the Russian JS-2, SKU: EFR-001, which retails for $189.00 USD. Available today at www.bgstoysoldiers.com. Military miniature includews a driver, detailed markings, and hasa set of tank riders, EFR-003, available, that compliment the piece.

BgsToySoldiersLogo

Figarti has just released the Hermann Goring 251/17 motorized Anti-aircraft gun, which is limited to only 100 pieces and retails for $289.00. The piece is in stock, and will be available on www.BgsToySoldiers.com this weekend. If you have been waiting on this piece, please let me know via email, as I am sure once they are up on the site it will be hard to get one before they sell out. Here is a little information about the piece posted by Figarti:

"As the war progressed, the Germans found themselves getting more and more desperate for motorized anti-aircraft guns that could keep up with their fighting units. One solution was the mounting of a 2 cm FlaK 38 gun inside the modified armoured hull of a Sd. Kfz. 251 halftrack. Adding to its Ą°Road to RomeĄą line that focuses on the WWII Italian Campaign (Ą°RMAĄą for Allies and Ą°RMGĄą for Axis), Figarti Miniatures proudly introduces its Ą°Hermann Göring 251/17Ąą (Item # RMG-010) with four crew figurines manning the gun. Done with an attention to detail, the Figarti 251/17 Ausf. C has a detailed transmission, fine width indicators made from brass, and painted with the white circle with red tab used by the Hermann Göring Division to identify a flak unit. The flak crew wears various Luftwaffe tropical uniforms and camouflage smocks with the distinctive Luftwaffe eagle over the right breast. Only 100 sets of this livery will be produced."

Get your Figarti pieces from www.BgsToySoldiers.com. You can email me any pieces you are interested in prior to their release, to help ensure you get each piece you are interested in. We do not put them up for pre-order, as we are not 100% sure what quantities we will receive of each new release. We will get more then we have in the past going forward, but we are still limited to only 5 to 6 of each new release, as Figarti has now went to a very limited quantity release structure.

Figarti: Desert Sherman MKII - 8TH-006

Figarti has just released a Desert Sherman MKII, 8TH-006. This piece is limited to 100 pieces and retails for $189.00. We will be putting the piece up on www.BgsToySoldiers.com in the next few days. Here is what Figarti has posted about this piece:

"The first Sherman tanks to see combat in WWII were the petrol engined M4A1, known to the British as the General Sherman Mk II. Responding to the wishes of collectors, Figarti Miniatures proudly adds to its North Africa line by introducing the "Desert Sherman Mk II" (Item # 8TH-006) with a single tank commander Figarti: Desert Sherman MKII - 8TH-006figurine. Painted in the markings of Squadron C, 9th Queen's Royal Lancers, 2nd Armoured Brigade, 1st Armoured Division, the Shermans of this regiment were known for their marksmanship with one gunner personally congratulated by General Montgomery for destroying nine enemy tanks on a single day. Displaying an attention to detail, the Figarti Desert Sherman Mk II has the distinctive early M3 type bogies, M34 gun mount, spoked road wheels, and bolted three piece transmission cover. In addition, Figarti has added the features unique to British Shermans serving in North Africa, including sand shield, blanket box, recognition pennants, and the brackets and rails along the hull to accommodate a sunshield. Their existence a secret at the start of the Second Battle of Alamein, the British Sherman tanks used a large tent like sunshield painted to look like a 3 ton lorry to disguise them from enemy aerial and mountaintop observation. Only 100 sets of this livery will be produced."

Figarti Miniatures - US Priest "Texas Special" - RMA-001

Figarti Miniatures - US Priest "Texas Special" - RMA-001

Figarit Miniatures - US Priest

The M7 is a 105mm mobile artillery, self propelled howitzer. The British had a version of the M7 and the US, also known as the Texas special was an M7 but armored with additional armor on the ammo racks. The M7 was the self propelled artillery of choice for the allies in World War II. The British were the first to see combat with the M7. The 105mm Howitzer was removed in some M7 artillery vehicles in the Asian campaign to utilize the vehicle as a troop transport.

Figarti has released a new US M7 "Texas Special" self propelled Howitzer this past month. They only fabricated 100 of the figure. We do still have a few instock, but as with most Figarti pieces they are going quickly. The cost is $229.00 USD. The SKU number is RMA-001. Get yours today at www.BgsToySoldiers.com.

Figarti Miniatures: U.S. Sherman M4 with Fording Stacks - ETA-005

Figarti Miniatures - US Sherman M4 with Fording Stacks - ETA-005

Figarti Miniatures has just released ETA-005 as part of their 1:30th scale WWII European Theater collection. This piece retails for $179.00 USD. We have already sold out of this piece, but more are coming soon. We are getting new releases as they come out, but in low quantities, due to limited availability on the initial run, but as they release 2nd and 3rd waves of the newest figures, we are restocking them. As for limited edition figures, we will be able to get 3 or 4 maximum. Figarti has become the rising leader in the military miniature collectibles market. Their pieces are hard to keep in stock, and we are getting pre-orders on pieces before we even put them up on the site, www.BgsToySoldiers.com. This piece was no different. It is a fantastic, well crafted piece.

During WWII, specifically during the Pacific Theater, tanks were fitted with Fording Stacks. These stacks allowed the tanks operate in deeper waters. During beach landings, tanks were often lost when LCMs sunk, or when tanks were moving towards land and hit deep holes in the water. The fording stacks were fitted on the tanks to combat this. You can find this piece soon at www.BgsToySoldiers.com.

Figarti Miniatures: British M-7 Priest Desert with Crew - 8TH-003

Figarti Miniatures soon will be releasing a British M-7 Priest Desert with Crew pictured here. This exquisite piece includes the self propelled 105mm Howitzer (Priest), crew, and shells. The military miniature from Figarti retails for $229.00 is 1:30th scale and limited.

We at www.BgsToySoldiers.com have been allocated between 2 and 3 of this piece. We have already pre-sold 2 and once we are confirmed for 3, will put the last piece up for sale also. With Figarti pieces, they are so limited and highly sought after at this time, that we are pre-selling all our alloted sets as we make them available to the collector. We have been pushing Figarti to supply us with more sets of each new release. We will also be stocking more of the already released figures soon. Figarti is a great investment at this time, as they are making significantly less quantities then demand calls for from the collectors community.

The M7 was an American made self propelled 105mm Howitzer, created during World War II. The British ordered 500 of the artillery vehicle and dubbed the howitzer the Priest. The M7 Self Propelled Howitzer was an armored vehicle that used the M3 Lee Chassis stripped down to carry the mobile artillery vehicle. The M7 was built to use the American armament standard. This led to issues with British standards, forcing the British to have to supply the M7 seperately. The M7 was used through the North African campaign and some of the Italian campaign before being replaced by the 25 pounder Sexton.

Figarti Miniatures: The Long Horns of Red Bull - A38039E

Figarti Miniatures: The Long Horns of Red Bull - A38039E

Figarti Miniatures has just released an US 8" Howitzer with Crew. This is the winterized version for their Battle of the Bulge Collection as a part of the WWII European theater. This piece is a part of Figarti miniatures 1:30 scale collection. The name of the figure is Figarti Miniatures: The Long Horn of Red Bull - A38039E. This would make a great addition to any Battle of the Bulge toy soldier diorama. Now available at www.BgsToySoldiers.com. This piece retails for $219.00 USD and is eligible for storewide discounts and free shipping. As with all Figarti's pieces lately, the sets are limited in availability.

The Howitzer is an artillery cannon known for having a short barrell. The US Howitzer played a key role in the Battle of the Bulge and pushing the German's back. The Mark VI and Mark VII were the two varients of the 8" US Howitzer from WWII. The Mark 6 had a lower muzzle velocity and therefore a smaller range than the Mark VII. On the upside, the Mark VI was smaller 10.5 Feet as opposed to the 12.5 feet in length of the Mark VII. Also, the mark VI could fire double the amount of rounds between allignments as the Mark VII. The Mark VIII later superceded the Mark VI and Mark VII. Both Howitzers from WWII required a mobile chassis as can be seen in the picture of the figure above. Figarti Miniatures: Company Profile

This month we here at Bgs Toy Soldiers are working out the details to start carrying Figarti Miniatures. We wanted to give our customers a little information on Figarti Miniatures, as they are starting to gain popularity in the Military Miniatures Trade.
Figarti was founded in 2003 by James Wang. They specialize in both 54mm and 60mm metal figures. Great detail and research goes into the development of each piece and they typically create pieces not offered by other military miniatures manufacturers.

In the photo to the left is their V-1 on Transport Cart & Crew (G4006E), which retails at $199.00. We hope to bring this piece and many of their other pieces to you sometime mid-May at www.BgsToySoldiers.com.
