John Jenkins Designs: New Figures

We have just gotten in John Jenkins Designs December 2011 miniatures new release. John Jenkins has added pieces to their Knights of the Sky, Battle of the Plains of Abraham, and 1st Sudan War collections.

New to the Knights of the Sky collection, John Jenkins designs has added a new WWI plane and a set of pilots for the Fokker Dr1 planes that have been released to date. The new plane is a Fokker Dr1, 213/17: JASTA BOELCKE, 1917. The Fokker Dr1 (ACE-11) is available for $208.00 and can be seen and purchased here: ACE-11. Two new figures were also added to the 1st Sudan War collection. A new Madhist and Royal Marine set are available. The new Madhist figures are two figures charging. Also, we received a new figure for both the Jacobite Rebellion collection and the Battle of the Plains of Abraham. The new Jacobite figure is the first Cavalry figure released for the collection. Thomas Gunn Miniatures Latest Pieces

Thomas Gunn Miniatures has released 8 new pieces just in time for the holiday season. As with all Thomas Gunn Miniatures, the pieces are extremely limited with only 200 pieces of the A variation and 120 pieces of the B variations.

Thomas Gunn Miniatures added a new pieces to their Gunn Club collection of individual figures. The Gebirgsjager Sniper is available today for $32.00 USD. The Winter variation is limited to 100 figures, can be viewed and purchased here: GEB001. The Spring 1945 version is limited to 200 figures and can be seen here: GC009.

Thomas Gunn has also added a new set of figures to the Allies WWII collection with an American Mortar Team of two figures for $69.00 USD. The piece comes in two variations, the 82nd Airborne - ATW001A, limited to 200 figures and a set of Mohican Mortar troops - ATW001B, limited to 120 figures. John Jenkins Designs has just announced his August releases. John Jenkins is adding a new piece to the Knights of the Skies collections with ACE-02P, Billy Bishop. The piece will retail for $33.00 USD and is not limited. Billy Bishop is the top Canadian ace from WWI credited with 72 victories. John Jenkins Designs is releasing a number of figures March 2011. John Jenkins is adding a new plane to the Knights of the Sky Collection. The new figure is the Knights of the Skies: Sopwith Camel, F2137 Captain D.R. Maclaren, No, 46 Squadron Athies, October 1918, This miniature is not limited and will be listed for $188.00. Captain Donald R. Maclaren tallied a total of 54 kills while flying various Sopwith Camels.

John Jenkins will also be adding to the Jacobite Rebellion Collection with a new Lowland Infantry Attacking with Musket, JR-23 listed for $62.00. The new Jacobite miniature is limited to 500 pieces. Also, a new piece is being added to the Battle of the Plains of Abraham. The new piece QF-25 consists of 2 Line Infantry in Summer Dress marching. The piece is limited to 750 and is listed for $60.00.

The Condor Legion was the expeditionary force of soldiers and airmen sent by Hitler to aid Franco's Nationalists in the Spanish Civil War. The Germans used the war as an opportunity to develop equipment and tactics, and their force included not only instructors, but also combat units of artillery, aircraft, and tanks. These units tested guns, planes and tanks, and perfected

techniques that were used in the 1940 Blitzkreig. Many of the officers prominent in the early campaigns of WW2 won their first successes in Spain. In October 1936, 2 German ships arrived in Spain loaded with a Panzer 1 Company, and all the services and personnel to establish Franco's army's first armoured unit. The so called PANZER-GRUPPE DROHNE. Oberstleutnant Willhelm Ritter Von Thoma was to command the contingent.
Two versions of the Panzerkampfwagen 1 were shipped to Spain, the A and B. The design was pioneered by Krupp in the early 1930's. The PzKpfw 1 A had a two man crew, and was armed with two 7.92mm MG13s. Battle experience in the SCW indicated that the Pzkpfw had several weaknesses. Its 0.5inch armour offered little protection against even the smallest anti-tank guns possessed by the Republicans. Its weapons were also far to lightweight to take on enemy tanks and the vehicle lacked the endurance to participate in prolonged action, often leaving the 2 man crew working in its cramped condition quickly exhausted. These invaluable practical lessons added impetus to new tank designs, although the Pzkpfw 1 itself continued to see service in Poland and France during 1939 and 1940.

The 20th Massachusetts was one of the hardest fighting regiments in the Army Of The Potomac. Of the 2,000 Union regiments engaged during the Civil War, the 20th suffered some of the highest losses. Through their tenacity and bravery the unit earned the right to file in first at the head of the Corp column. The 20th was known as "The Harvard Regiment" because of the large number of Harvard educated officers. As a unit in the Second Corps, the 20th Massachusetts fought in battles from Balls Bluff, Fair Oaks, Malvern Hill, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Wilderness all the way to Appomattox Court House. Our sets capture their fighting spirit. With so much success with our 5th Texas we thought it only right to hoist the Stars and Bars and celebrate a great Union regiment.

Figarti Miniature: 76.2 AT gun - Panzer Killer

This month, Figarti is adding to their Russian WWII collection with the 76.2 AT Gun - Panzer Killer, JSU-152, and three Russian Soldiers advancing labeled "Forward!". These three figures will compliment their other recent Russian collection that included the JS-2. All are a part of their highly detailed and very popular 1:30 scale collection, which are limited edition figures. The Russian JSU-152 self-propelled gun combined three battle roles : heavy assault gun, heavy tank destroyer and heavy self-propelled artillery. Nicknamed the "Zveroby" or "Animal Killer" by Soviet tank crews because of the devastating effect of its 95 Ib. projectile on Panthers, Tigers and Elefants, the ISU-152 was one of the few Russian tanks capable of destroying heavy German tanks. It suffered from an extremely low rate of fire due to its two piece ammunition, but this disadvantage was countered by massed ambushes of 4-5 vehicles firing in salvo at a single target's flanks. Following the great success of its JS-2, Figarti Miniatures proudly adds the "Beast" (EFR-004) to its line of Russian vehicles. Done the Figarti Way, this massive tank comes with two figurines. In addition, Figarti Miniatures adds the "Panzer Killer" (EFR-002), a Russian 76.2mm antitank gun with four figurines; and "Forward!" (EFR-005), three Russian figurines advancing through
