There are a number of Berlin 1938 additions, some new Confederate Marching Soldiers, and a collection of Raupenschlepper Vehicles and complimentary PAK 7.5 with three crew members. The 20th Massachusetts was one of the hardest fighting regiments in the Army Of The Potomac. Of the 2,000 Union regiments engaged during the Civil War, the 20th suffered some of the highest losses. Through their tenacity and bravery the unit earned the right to file in first at the head of the Corp column. The 20th was known as "The Harvard Regiment" because of the large number of Harvard educated officers. As a unit in the Second Corps, the 20th Massachusetts fought in battles from Balls Bluff, Fair Oaks, Malvern Hill, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Wilderness all the way to Appomattox Court House. Our sets capture their fighting spirit. With so much success with our 5th Texas we thought it only right to hoist the Stars and Bars and celebrate a great Union regiment.

Collectors Showcase will be shipping their PzkfwIV's this week. Next up coming in their September release is the Steyr 1500 Command Car. This Austrian built car was built by Auto Unionand about five thousand of these vehicles were ultimately produced during the war. Used from the East front all the way to Tunisia the vehicle developed quite a reliable record and transported many commands from front to front.

The Normandy version sports LAH insignia and has our brand new Sepp Dietrich command figure as an add on. The vehicle comes with two figures one of which is the infamous Panzer

Collectors Showcase: M8 Stuart Howitzer

The Collectors Showcase has been producing high quality tanks as part of their collection for three years now, primarily focusing on the German side of WWII. They have now started to add focus to producing the more American tanks and soldiers. As a part of their upcoming release, Collectors Showcase is releasing two varients of a M8 Stuart Howitzer Tank. They are releasing a Winter version and a Normandy version of the M8 Stuart Howitzer. Each military miniature M8 Stuart Howitzer includes one extra thrown track, so that the M8 can be displayed as running or disabled. Also includes 3 soldiers and a full turret interior. The M8 Stuart Howitzer also known as the M8 Scott and Howitzer Motor Carriage M8 was designed on the General Stuart VI, M5 light tank. The M5 turret was replaced on the M5 on the M8 Howitzer and an open top turret was used in the design with a 75mm M2 Howitzer gun mount. The M8 Stuart Howitzer was also armed with a .50 cal machine gun, seen in the model above. The M8 Stuart was used throughout WWII by allied forces. The M8 Scott also saw action in the First Indochina War.

Collectors Showcase: Mosby Cavalry - American Civil War

The Collectors Showcase is releasing 5 Cavalry figures in their upcoming release designed after John Mosby and the 43rd Battalion, 1st Virginia Cavalry. John Mosby served for the Confederate army from 1861 to 1865. John Mosby started the war assigned to the monted rifle company of Virginia volunteers. After the First Battle of Manassas, John Mosby was re-assigned to Stuart's cavalry scouts, under J.E.B. Stuart. It was not until 1963 that John Mosby was granted permission from General Lee to form the 43rd Battalion Virginia Cavalry, a regiment of rangers in Northern Virginia. Mosby and his rangers carried out a number of successful raids throughout the remainder of the war throughout Virginia, causing major disruptions in the Union supply chain. The Voltiguers were formed in most French Line Infantry battalions in 1804. This was a group of 90 soldiers that were an elite group of sharpshooters that would perform light infantry operations for the French Infantry. They would shield the battalion from the enemy and forming skirmish lines. This group of elite soldiers was slowly disbanded throughout the 1812 Russian campaign.

Collectors Showcase: Panther Tank Release

The Collectors Showcase is releasing a new Panther Tank series this Christmas season. They will be releasing two variants of panthers for both their Normandy and Winter collections. The Panther tanks are already up on www.BgsToySoldiers.com for pre-order. As with all Collectors Showcase releases, the tanks are extremely limited. With each panther tank the collector will get two sets of tracks, one damaged track and one running track. This way you can display the Panther in action or in a battle damaged diorama.

The tanks also come with a clean look or the Zimmerit version. For those of you unfamiliar with the Zimmerit finish, Germany coated some of their tanks in a rigid paste covering to reduce magnetic attraction of the tank to combat anti-tank magnetic mines from being attracted to their tanks. Even though, Germany was the only country that widely used the magnetic mines during World War II??

Also available are Panzer Crew Casualty set, which actually fits the copula of all tanks released by Collectors Showcase, which include the Tiger tanks, Sturmgeschutze, and the newest Panter.
